Designer History
Born in London in 1872, Alfred Dunhill took over his father’s saddlery business at the age of 21. Although horses were the primary mode of transportation, the forward-looking Alfred realized that the newly invented motorcar would soon be coming into world prominence. As a result, he changed the name of his company to Dunhill Motorities, and began replacing buggy whips and harnesses with linen dusters, goggles, and other automotive-related accessories. Dunhill promoted his lines as “Everything for the car but the motor.”

Today, they specializes in men’s luxury leather goods, writing implements, lighters, timepieces, clothing and fragrances. Men’s scents include Dunhill Desire, Desire Blue, Dunhill Man, Dunhill Pursuit, Dunhill XCentric, Dunhill Pure and Dunhill Fresh. The company also makes Dunhill Pink perfume for women. In addition to colognes and perfume, Dunhill also markets after shave, deodorant and body wash fragrances for men.

Their fragrances are sold under the Dunhill brand name are manufactured and marketed through a licensing agreement by Procter and Gamble Prestige Products division.
