American pop singer, dancer and songwriter and performer Britney Spears was born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, LA. Known for her studio albums, music videos, and plethora of Grammy Award-winning hit songs such as “…Baby One More Time”, “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “I’m a Slave 4 U” and “Toxic,” her success as a singer paved the way for lucrative advertising deals and endorsements, and film and reality television roles. Spears sold over seventy-six million albums worldwide, and the RIAA ranks her as the eighth best-selling female artist in American music history, having sold thirty-one million albums in the U.S.

Perfume History
Spears released her first fragrance, Curious, in 2004, followed by Fantasy in 2005. She earned a reported $12 million for Curious, which was the largest debut in sales in history, breaking Elizabeth Arden’s record for first-week gross for a perfume. In 2005, Curious perfume netted more than $100 million, and was the number one fragrance in department stores in both 2004 and 2005.

Curious Britney Spears is a vanilla-musk infused white floral scent. With accents of Louisiana magnolia, reminiscent of summer. Subtle and sweet, Curious is a perfume that can be worn day or night. The Curious Britney Spears collection is comprised of Eau de Parfum, Deliciously Whipped! Body Souffle, Lather Me Up! Shower Gel and Write On! Perfumed Shimmer Stick. Curious Britney Spears was aimed toward customers between the ages of 15 and 25, and introduced to Canada and Australia, where the fragrance was equally popular. The perfume Fantasy added another marketable gem to the Britney Spears fragrance portfolio. Curious was honored by the Fragrance Foundation, naming it Best Women’s Fragrance.

Spears and celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones helped rejuvenate the fragrances of Elizabeth Arden, which was part of both Eli Lilly and Co. and Unilever before it’s 2001 acquisition by Miami Lakes based French Fragrances Inc.
